I support what President Bush has done in the Middle East during his two terms. The first time that democracy has really broken into that culture and I don't know how you can read about it and watch the news coverage of those first elections in Afghanistan, etc and not break into tears of joy for the freedom of these people.
Fouad Ajami agrees with me (well he doesn't really know me) and wrote a wonderful piece in the Wall Street Journal about the work that the President has done in that region of the world.

Are they really free?
Once again, you are forcing 'your will' upon others in the form of gov't. Ok, sure, they can vote now, but are they really free? What one has to realize in this area of the world is that 'freedom' is more dictated by religious leaders than political. They can vote for a president now along with other gov't leaders, but that doesn't address the root cause of many issues, and that is fundamental religious sects strictly enforcing their beliefs.
They won't be truly free until religious persecution is over.
